The weather is getting warmer which means it’s time to make some more fun jewelry to wear with those sundresses and flip-flops. These DIY Easy Hoop Earrings For Women are perfect as a gift but I ain’t gonna lie, I’m already wearing them. The material for the hoops I chose today are made from rattan. I chose rattan because it is a modern, natural and textured material that you can wear all year. This tutorial is really is so quick and so super easy – read on for the step-by-step tutorial!
Where To Find Hoop Earrings For Jewelry Making
Once upon a time, I had a little side hustle making and selling jewelry when we lived in Toronto and before we had kids. Back then, I only had a couple of options to get my supplies but today the possibilities are endless. You just have to do a quick search online and you will find a dizzying number of options available to purchase your jewelry supplies without having to leave your home. If you take a look at my DIY Jewelry Tutorials, you will notice that my favorite places to shop for my earrings supplies are:

I usually aim to buy supplies that are gold-plated or suitable for sensitive skin. Especially if I am making jewelry that will be given as gifts to family and friends.
What You Need – Hoop Earrings For Women
- Gold earring posts – preferably a pair that has a hole or loop at the bottom (or back) on each post to connect with your jump ring. (I got mine on Etsy at DesignYourHeart )
- 32mm Rattan Earring Hoops (I got mine on Etsy at CraftOnTheCouch)
- Gold colored earring backs or plastic earring backs
- Gold colored jump rings (I used 2 for each earring)
- Jewelry making pliers (I used 2 pliers for opening and closing the jump rings)

Instructions – Hoop Earrings For Women
- The rattan hoops may have some natural holes for your jump rings. If they do not, pierce a hole near the top in each hoop using something sharp (I used a hole reamer)
- Open your jump rings with pliers – I used 2 sets of pliers (one in each hand) to twist (one side toward you, the other side away from you) each jump ring so that the ends opened forward and backward
- With the jump ring ends open, put the earring post on one end then connect with the 2 jump rings and the rattan hoop
- Close the jump rings with pliers
- Repeat for the other earring
- Add the earring backs to each earring
