Growing up in Trinidad I had access to the most delicious tropical fruits. I felt such nostalgia and could almost smell the fruits as I flipped through these images and saw an illustrated guava plant. Naturally I had to make these DIY Eucalyptus and Guava Flour Sack Towels as a nod to my Caribbean roots. I promise you this tutorial is so quick and easy. Click through to make your own!
Materials: DIY Eucalyptus and Guava Flour Sack Towels
- Silhouette Studio (there is a free version!) or any graphic software
- Printer
- Plant illustrations – I got mine from Creative Market which free only this week!
- Scissors
- Printable Heat Transfer Material for Light Fabrics
- White flour sack towels
- Scrap fabric
- Iron
- Ironing board

How To Make: Eucalyptus and Guava Flour Sack Towels
- Pre-wash your towels
- Open your .png images of the plants you want on your towels and resize them so that they can fit on the towels
- Load your image transfer sheet into your printer (check the instructions for which side to face down)
- Cut around the edges of your images once they are printed
For each towel:
- Place an image face down on the towel and cover film with scrap frabric
- With an iron on cotton settings (no steam), press down on the image for 30-40 seconds
- Allow the sheet to cool before peeling off the backing
