How To Make: DIY Gold Rainbow Place Card Holders
- In Silhouette Studio, select your font and type the uppercase U
- Create 2 more letter Us
- Nest the Us as shown in the image below. You may need to adjust the size of each so that they are not touching
- Rotate your Us 180 degrees
- Create 2 rectangles at the base of your rainbow as shown below
- Weld the rectangles to the rainbow
- Resize your shape and mirror a copy (mine were 2 in tall)
- Replicate both copies throughout the page
- Load your gold foil onto your Silhouette cutting machine and send to cut using printable foil settings
- Adhere each pair of shapes (the rainbow shape and its mirror image) to each other so that you have a double-sided rainbow
- Repeat as needed
- Slide your place card between the rainbow arc
- Repeat for as many place cards you need
And that’s it! All you need to do now is throw a party! I can’t wait to hear how your unique place card holders turned out – tell me in the comments below!

I *JUST* got a Cricut and found it remarkably easy to use. I am super inspired by this project but I wish that I had the same equipment as you!!
Brittany, have fun with your new toy! So happy that you are inspired – I’m pretty sure you can make something similar! xoxo
