I chatted with my friend the other day over text and she mentioned that she started up coloring to pass the time. Coincidentally, I started up drawing again and have been taking a few Skill Share courses to improve my skills. So, I decided to turn one of my most recent projects into a free coloring page for you to download and print so that you can color like my friend too! This is a page filled with my California Poppy in different angles and has a frame around each drawing. Once you download and color, you can use it as a note card or even frame it!

The Benefits of Coloring
Aside from being a fun activity for all ages, coloring can have many benefits.
For kids, coloring can:
- Improve motor skills – coloring can help to improve fine motor skills, especially for young kids. The actions, motions and precise grip involved in coloring can help develop muscles in the fingers, hands and wrist
- Stimulate creativity – coloring helps build the imagination and gives kids the opportunity to play with new colors and inspire them to think of new and creative ideas for their coloring sheets
- Develop spatial awareness – coloring can also help develop visual perception in kids. The act of coloring within boundaries and margins strengthens this type of developmental awareness
For adults, they can:
- Help us relax – after a stressful day of work or homeschooling, it’s nice to just grab a page or coloring book and destress with some music in the background. Wine is optional, of course
- Exercise the mind – logic and creativity can be jump started when we color. We need to choose colors and plan the way our picture will look at the end. A nice mix of both sides of our brains is working here!
- Bond with our kids – now that we have a lot of time to spend with our families, why not print out copies of the same coloring sheet and color together? It’s a shared activity everyone will enjoy with opportunity to catch up at the end of the day
Now that we know how amazing coloring is, let’s download, print and color!

Hello there! Thank you for sharing! Poppies are (one of) my favourite flowers. (And I just need to say that I kind of smiled when I saw your name. It reminded me of my mother’s name. She is called Maritsa (pronounced /Maricha/). Bless you and all the best. Greetings from Greece. xx
Hi, Evi! I love the way your mother’s name is spelled and pronounced, and thank you so much for kind words! xoxoxox
